Fall Flowers and Veggies

Fall Flowers and Veggies

October/November is the start of fall and a great time to plant beautiful flowers and delicious vegetable seeds. Planting now will give the roots time to grow and make for a wonderful garden.

The first thing to do when preparing your garden is get the soil ready. Fertilizing is always a great start along with other nutrients and boosters that are available at Green Goddess. By getting your soil in tip-top condition, this helps produce beautiful flowering plants and tasty vegetables.

If you have an area that is designated strictly for vegetables you can start by making furrows approximately two (2) feet apart. Vegetables can grow nicely anywhere in your garden. Consult with your Green Goddess expert as to how much room each plant needs. A minimum of eight hours of sunlight is also recommended.

When planting fall flowers, choose colors that you like and plant them in unique patterns to create a beautiful visual affect. Make sure when planting that the hole is deep enough and remove the plant from its container with great care. Do not make the hole deeper than the container.

Make sure the soil around your plants is packed firmly and begin watering. Never over water; just keep the soil moist when first planting and monitor them after that.

If you plant a little earlier, make sure the temperature has dropped down below 100 degrees. Planting vegetable seeds is also great and a fun option. It is especially fun when the vegetables are ready to pick!
